I hear that a small group of voters for the College Football Hall of Fame have gotten together and waged a campaign against voting for Reggie Bush on the latest ballot.
“One of the things you are supposed to take into consideration is integrity,” said one of the voters of the group. “That is what bothers some of us.”
Whether the group has enough influence over other voters is debatable. But it is unusual to hear of any coordination among voters for any college football awards.
It is also unusual because there has been a larger campaign to exonerate Bush from the NCAA charges that resulted in severe sanctions for USC. Even USC has vigorously defended Bush recently and welcomes him back to campus.
Sorry, but Reggie Bush messed up and he has refused to acknowledge wrongdoing. Until he does he does not deserve recognition.
The saintly "campaigners" have every right to stop Reggie's latest quest for recognition in it's tracks. I can't believe anybody would vote for a guy who has his kind of work ethic, or number of game saving touchdowns or 100% devotion to his team. When I saw him push Matt into the end zone [and then jump around like a kid at Christmas!], I prayed a person like that would NEVER be admitted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Enough is enough.
