Carol Folt is doing a good job of being unaware of quite a few things involving sports at USC.
When former USC track coach Caryl Smith Gilbert went to Folt with a list of grievances involving bonuses for her coaching staff and other issues, Folt said she was unaware. But once she was aware, she chose not to get involved.
Much like she chose not to get involved with a mega-booster who offered to pay for Urban Meyer’s contract if he came to USC.
And she wanted no part of getting rid of Clay Helton in 2019.
One could argue that a president should stay away from getting involved with sports. But Smith Gilbert was clearly happy with the hiring of new women’s basketball coach Lindsay Gottlieb and approved her $1 million salary . . . something that offended Smith Gilbert, who won two national titles.
So the moral is a president (Folt) does not concern themselves with athletics, until they do.
Not involved? Oh, Carol is plenty involved [in fucking up the athletic program]. According to Brook Melchior [way back when] she said "I want nothing to do with Urban Meyer." Scott reported [way back when] she called Urban "radioactive." I also seem to remember her saying something [way back when] about wanting our head football coach to "walk the path of righteousness." Carol is the most recent iteration of the Wanda Austin philosophy of sports: "Get a coach who keeps off alcohol and drugs and doesn't play around."

Carol Folt is that worthless, micromanaging boss we've all worked for. He BS has worn thin. Watch her play the "Blame the Victim" card in the fall. I hope it's a free for all in the Fall with her and Caruso. What a joke.
