Recruiting Discontent Within Pac-12
Do you think Prentice Gill regrets turning down a 3-year contract offer from USC in January to join the coaching staff?
Gill and former USC safety Chris Hawkins have been placed on paid administrative leave by Arizona State, according to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, as the NCAA probe into ASU continues.
Gill previously worked at USC. Hawkins was a graduate assistant at USC for a year after he played for the Trojans.
So there are plenty of USC ties to Arizona State. In fact, there’s been some complaining within the Pac-12 behind-the-scenes recently about USC’s recruiting methods.
“Everybody (coaches) has stories right now about certain people,” a Pac-12 assistant coach told me Monday. “ASU is in the spotlight but there are other programs too.”
If you read the Yahoo story, Arizona State defensive coordinator Antonio Pierce had Gill and Hawkins on staff to be aggressive recruiters and perhaps flaunt the rules. They deny wrongdoing.
It has cast a pale over Arizona State just as it was expected to challenge USC for the Pac-12 South Division title.
What are the rumors about questionable USC recruiting tactics? That's one of the things I really don't like about Scott and this site. His brand is built on doing nothing but tearing down USC football, and he has no problem naming names, starting rumors, calling people out, bad mouthing people, etc....But then he does stuff like this all the time.

It's always stupid stuff like that....You're a big boy, Scott, so come out with it. You obviously have no issue torching Heritage Hall other times. Unless it's just just a well used lie to drum up drama. That's fine too I guess, as it's sort of your schtick...but if that's the case you should at least try to pace yourself.
Prentice Gill regrets nothing. He IS working for USC. He's our man on the inside. In January Carol Folt met with Gill at the W.L.A. Burger King and handed him 3 million in unmarked bills to "bring down Arizona State".....
