Top Recruits Prove Elusive At Some Spots

Why did Servite tight end Keyan Burnett decommit from USC?

“The word is the player felt USC mishandled his recruitment,” said a Pac-12 North Division coach on Tuesday morning. “He reportedly didn’t think USC knew how to use his talents.”

Could it be that Burnett realized a tight end seems to have a shaky role in the Air Raid offense under Graham Harrell?

His decommitment shows that USC is good at recruiting quarterbacks and wide receivers, and less adept at getting offensive linemen or tight ends. The latter two spots are not exactly developed under the Air Raid, so it was interesting that Burnett committed in the first place.

I don't know why any tight end or running back would ever want to go to USC

Headline probably should be: Why did Keyan commit?
