USC athletic director Mike Bohn continues to raid the University of Cincinnati for high-ranking positions inside the Trojan athletic dept.
Bohn recently hired Nick Bowes to be USC’s Chief Operating Officer, a position previously held by Steve Lopes.
Bowes was Associate AD for Business and External Affairs/Chief Financial Officer at CINCINNATI.
And Bohn previously hired Lindsay Jaffe as Associate Athletic Director (Sport Administration) at USC. Jaffe was an assistant athletic director at CINCINNATI.
Now the kicker: Bowes and Jaffe are married.
Bohn’s right-hand man, Brandon Sosna, the No. 2-ranking official at USC, also came from CINCINNATI.
USC’s new strength coach, Robert Stiner, worked with Bohn and Sosna at . . . CINCINNATI.
If a good job opens up at USC, you better have worked at Cincinnati if you want it.
The question is whether the athletic dept. is now split between the Cincinnati people who trust each other and the USC people wary of the Cincinnati people?
Why not "talk to someone who works for Mike Bohn"? That's very funny. No one presently working in USC's Athletic Department is going to say anything bad about Mike Bohn ...cuz... President Folt. It would be a waste of time for anybody to complain about Bohn's leadership..... cuz....Bohn's only doing what Folt wants him to do. Bohn looks like a separate entity in his cardinal blazer and gold pants but he's simply an extension of Folt.....cuz....he knows Folt expects it [make that, Folt demands it]. That's the way it is and that's the way it's gonna stay. And no one is gonna buck it. The present collective at USC isn't known for it's courage.
[Special Note: The big problem with hiring ciphers is they have severely limited contacts. Helton has to stick with Western Knott's Berry Farm or wherever it is he comes from ....and Bohn's universe begins and ends with Cincinnati].
I’d love it if USC were able to hire Luke Fickell. Many of us criticize and some mock Mike Bohn on twitter. Scott, what do people that work under Bohn at USC think of him? Do they like and respect him? That people from UofCInn have followed him to USC says something. Given the negative media coverage of the current affairs in Los Angeles, I’m skeptical that Fickell would want to move his family there.
