USC Friday Notes Column Supplement
Welcome to the Friday USC notes column supplement:
Let’s start by again pointing out how tough USC football schedules were in the past: In 1964, the Trojans played Oklahoma, Michigan State, Texas A&M and Ohio State.
Oklahoma and Ohio State were each ranked No. 2 in the nation when they played USC that season.

Dave Moton tackles Michigan State's John Tinnick. Coming in to aid in tackle are Mike Giers (77) and Pete Lubisich (69).
Here is Jesse Owens winning the 100 meters for Ohio State in a meet against USC at the Coliseum in 1935. Owens won three other events that day, including the 200 meters, but the Trojans defeated the Buckeyes in the dual meet.
We always talk about former USC basketball John Rudometkin’s college career. But here he is with the New York Knicks in 1962-63.
He is pictured next to former UCLA star Willie Naulls. Other notables in the picture are Johnny Green, Gene Shue and Richie Guerin, who averaged 21.5 points per game that season.
