Another own goal by USC’s social media team today.
It wished Clay Helton a Happy Birthday on twitter but then prevented readers from replying to the tweet.
Why even bother riling up the fan base for no reason? Did it really need to wish Helton a Happy Birthday?
When Mike Bohn assembled this “social media juggernaut” he did it without an adult in the room, apparently.
Remember the tweet during the Texas power outage? Here it is:
The tweet was quickly deleted.
But it showed how USC doesn’t have adult supervision with its social-media team. And I heard the person responsible for this tweet was recently promoted.
Amazing.
Another Machiavellian move by Bohner from his bunker. USC media doesn’t know what hit them.
Scott --It's obvious you didn't get Mike Bohn's "Helton Happy Birthday Addendum" text: "Just wanted to add that, due to the varying levels of hatred felt for Clay, USC has seen to it that fan comments are disallowed. Birthdays should be a time for celebration ---a time for joy. Of course by doing what we're doing we are, in effect, acknowledging that Clay is a recognized failure....and that we, in turn, our failures for retaining him. But --hey--- that's one on our players! Ha ha ha ha!"
