Last week, I wrote about the glaring omission of Chris Claiborne from the College Football Hall of Fame ballot. A source close to the process tells me Claiborne was going to be on the original ballot until USC wrote a letter to the College Football Hall of Fame asking for Reggie Bush to be on the ballot.
This has Mike Bohn’s grimy fingerprints all over it. USC wants positive PR for football program from Bush most assuredly getting voted into HOF. Fine. But doesn’t want to draw attention to the fact that they let Claiborne walk away to Arizona State just because Todd Orlando wanted coach linebackers. They could’ve left Bregel off the ballot, but no. More of Bohner’s machinations.
