Did USC care that track coach Caryl Smith Gilbert is headed to Georgia after winning her second national title in three years? I’ve heard from an athletic dept. administrator that Smith Gilbert tried to get athletic director Mike Bohn to make a counter offer, but never got one.
The question is Scotty, what DOES USC care about? I can't WAIT for in person press conferences to begin again. Make no mistake, HH and Bovard have been hiding behind the pandemic and it's OVER. Coach Smith-Gilbert actually produced. The admin said that "she was hard on the kids" and "hard on her coaches". I'm sure she at least showed them some respect, which is more than HH and Bovard are doing, including showing any professionalism whatsoever.
If USC had a Top 5 football program, selling out the Coliseum every week, happy drunken donors writing huge checks on a regular basis … USC wouldn’t be getting outbid for its championship track coach by Georgia.

Maybe Bohner figures he doesn’t lose that much with Quincy Watts. Still, letting your national championship coach walk seems rather pathetic.

Luckily, Clay Helton is extremely "popular". And never "hard on kids."
